Billy Miller ART For Life
About Us
.
Made with Xara
“All Kids Can Create”
Pablo Picasso said it best,
“All children are artists....”.
As children, we explore and touch
everything. We are creative and
uninhibited, and the art experience
is considered joyful. Then something
changes as we develop. During the
developmental process, we become
self-conscious and competitive, and
we forget how to have fun when
making art.
Art For All
Right now our young organization is
focusing our efforts on youth who
have disabilities, a label which we do
not like. Instead we believe that art is
really about “ABILITY” and relative
only to the individual. Everyone has
art ability, and art can be enjoyed by
all, no matter who you are or your
disability or ability. Eventually we will
open our doors to anyone who wants
to share in the joy of the art
experience.
Please Save The Arts!
We live in an era where our leaders
and politicians are charged with the
monumental task of restoring our
economy. Sacrifices must be made for
the sake of our children’s future. But in
doing so we should never take away
the experience of the arts, no matter
what! Research supports this. The
arts are essential for the overall
development of children. What would
our future look like without the arts?
Welcome to Studio 309 at the Art Bank
The Art Bank group of artists and Art Mundo, the original Art Bank artists,
have graciously opened up their hearts and their building to our program. I
cannot think of a better place to share the art experience. Surrounded by Fort
Pierce artists and their artworks, we are truly inspired as we create art and
share conversation. Our Saturday mornings are best described as a
celebration of life through artistic expression.
Abigail, the “art dog”
Billy loved Abigail and so does our art
group. She is a wonderfully talented and
loving CCI Facility Dog. Abigail hangs out
with us every Saturday morning.
Billy was a very troubled child with
special needs who loved art, especially the
art of Vincent Van Gogh. Art helped
Billy calm his inner turmoil. His
interaction with the ‘art dog’ helped
soothe his confusion and frustration.
Billy Miller ART For Life will help others
like Billy uncover their artist within, and it
will help them to find peace and meaning
in life through
artistic
expression.
Goal
Our goal is to create an after school
and summer arts program for children
with special needs, like Billy,
and ultimately a Center for the Arts
that will serve the entire community,
young and old.
